Sietse Soundscape – The neighborhood as a concert hall

This collection of sound compositions was created by the Secondary 1 students from John Dewey College (The Hague) as part of their thematic project “The New Neighborhood”, in collaboration with Sound Up Project (Education).
Working from the creative idea “The neighborhood as a concert hall”, students engaged in a process of listening, reflecting, and imagining the urban soundscape. Drawing on memories, present-day experiences, and their own creativity, they collected sounds from The Binckhorst, built a sonic cartography, and composed a unique and expressive sonic portrait of the different parts of an imagined Binckhorst.
