This collection of sound compositions was created by the Secondary 1 students from John Dewey College (The Hague) as part of the thematic project “New Neighborhood”.
Working from the creative idea “The neighborhood as a concert hall”, students engaged in a process of listening, reflecting, and imagining the urban soundscape. Drawing on memories, present-day experiences, and their own creativity, they collected sounds from De Binckhorst, built a sonic cartography, and composed a unique and expressive sonic portrait of the different parts of an imagined Binckhorst.
